I had a wonderful time as an artist at Prairie Fest 2017!I enjoyed the interactions I had with the public, other exhibitors and vendors, and those who planned and helped run the event. It felt like there was a real spirit of relaxed camaraderie, even though I know that logistically, lots of adjustments were needed throughout the weekend--Charissa was a trooper. Savannah and the others were extremely pleasant to work with, too. Karaoke was lots of fun Friday night; it was a great choice for an activity that brings people together and gives them a positive experience. If I'm not mistaken, it went on much longer than planned, because folks were having such a good time. Saturday art classes were well attended, and the kids seemed to really like drawing, painting, and getting a chance to throw pottery for the first time. The Battle of the Bands was very exciting, and made for a nice atmosphere at the event. I enjoyed hearing the music while I painted and chatted with attendees. I was thrilled to win prize money for my artwork. I made a couple of sales, and I'm pretty sure commissioned pieces will be coming as well. I will happily participate in Prairie Fest again next year! Groovestreetbling attended this years Prairiefest in Arkansas city Kansas and loved being apart of this event. The bands were absolutely amazing my new favorite MADD Libby totally rocked my socks! Groovestreetbling set up the hippie tent at Wilson park and enjoyed every minute of Prairiefest 2017. I had such a great time at Prairie Fest yesterday! Charissa was so welcoming and amazing. All the vendors were so nice and were very gracious to allow me to take pictures, and all the performers for battle of the bands were so fun and all put on a great show! The bands were very supportive of each other and showed an awesome example of comradery. I love that this community came together for this amazing event for such a great program. I look forward to more events like this with the Ark City Arts. Great job guys and gals!!

Amazing hands-on opportunities and demonstrations. The artists who were there were great, and I hope by next year you can add some more artists/crafters with their work displayed and for sale. We have many talented bands in the area who would also be a great addition to the live music pavilion. Overall it was a wonderful family-friendly experience and I hope to see it grow between now and next year with the help of volunteers and community involvement!

I had a blast at Prairie Fest 17.BATTLE OF THE BANDS HAD ME ON MY FEET . I felt like I was 16 again !! Wonderful , amazing evening !! Thank all that helped with it !!

I thought art in the park went pretty well all considered.  I did it in the past and wilson park always worked well.  It got moved around and I stopped coming.   So from what I understand it was about 5 years since there was any art, only music and I still sold plenty art.  We had heat that felt like 110-115 degrees Saturday which kept some people away I'm sure.  I'd like to come next year if dates line up.  I'll hope for cooler weather.

Dear Charissa and all PrarieFest board members and associates, My name is Ben Bullock, I'm the lead singer and songwriter for the Ben Bullock band.  This year we came up to Arkansas City to perform at the Prariefest battle advanced competition and what a very successful! After only being together for two weeks our band won both sets, mom the judges choice, and the crowds choice categories!'s working with Charissa  was such an absolute pleasure and getting to meet all of the volunteers and staff that helped make Prariefest possible was such an honor! Our band, so new, had such an amazing time in your city! The volunteers or professional, the competition was well organized, and the festival was very smartly thought out and planned! We have nothing but good things to say about  our experience at Prariefest and would be so honored to come back in the future and participate next year if you will have us.  All of the booths, food trucks, and activities were so much fun to observe and take part in! The people in your city are so kind and welcoming, we truly loved the experience of being with you all at Prariefest ! Charissa  is truly a wonderful person, leader and now friend!
